Hong Kong Wonton Soup


Wonton, little pouches filled with savoury meat or prawn filling that everyone just can't seem to get enough. 

It's very easy to prepare and by adding our Heng's Flounder Fish Seasoning, it'll be as good as those famous wontons in Hong Kong!

     150g Minced Chicken Meat

     50g Shrimp, coarsely chopped

     1 tsp Heng's Flounder Fish Seasoning

     1/8 tsp White Pepper Powder

     1/2 tsp Minced Garlic

     1/2 tsp Salt

     1/2 tsp Sesame Oil

     1/2 tsp Corn Starch

     1/2 Egg

     (Optional) 4 Water Chestnut, de-skin & coarsely chopped



     1 packet store-bought Wonton Wrappers



     1 liter Chicken broth

     1 tsp Heng's Flounder Fish Seasoning

     A few drops of Sesame Oil

     Spring Onion for garnishing




1. In a mixing bowl, put in all the ingredients for filling. Mix well.


2. Put about 1 tsp filling in the center of a Wonton Wrapper, fold & lightly twist to enclose the filling. Repeat with the remaining filling & Wonton Wrappers.

  3. Drop wontons into boiling water, stir gently & bring to boil again. Wontons was cooked when they float to water surface. Drain away water & put cooked wontons in a soup bowl.

4. Bring Chicken Broth to boil. Add Heng's Flounder Fish Seasoning & mix well. Ladle hot soup over cooked wontons. Add a few drops of Sesame Oil & sprinkle with Spring Onions. 

Serve hot.
