Nyonya Asam Laksa

 
 

Asam Laksa is a tangy noodle soup from Peranakan Culture which is usually serve with thick rice noodles with a dollop of prawn paste (heh ko) at the side. Mouth-watering & appetizing, you can now prepare it at home quick & easy with Heng's Asam Seafood Sauce!

Broth:

     1 packet (200g) Heng's Asam Seafood Sauce

     2 tsp Minced Torch Ginger Bud

     170g Cooked, deboned & flaked Mackerel/ Sardine Meat (Fresh or canned) 

     1 pc Tamarind Peel

      800ml Water

     4 Sprigs Polygonum Leaves (Daun Kesom)

     1/2 tsp Salt

     1 tsp Sugar 

 

Ingredients:

     250g cooked Laksa Noodles/ Thick Rice Noodles

     1/4 Cucumber, Sliced

     1/8 Pineapple, Sliced

     1/2 Onion, Sliced

     1 Red Chilli, Sliced

     1 Calamansi, halved (Optional)

     1 tbsp Prawn Paste (Heh Ko)(Optional)

 

Instruction:

    1. In a boiling pot, add all ingredients for broth. Bring to boil & keep simmering

        for 10 mins.

    2. Assemble ingredients in noodle bowls & ladle with hot soup. Serve hot with

        halved calamansi & Prawn Paste at the side.
